Dear Members of the Community,
We are reaching out to you with an urgent and heartfelt appeal to join our new mentorship initiative, Hall's Heroes. At SPJH, we've always believed that it takes a village to raise a child, and never has that been more apparent than it is today. In the wake of the tragic passing of our beloved 8th-grade student, Tra’Derric Hall, we are more dedicated than ever to ensuring the well-being and success of every student who walks through our doors. We cannot afford to lose another. That's why we've established Hall's Heroes, a monthly mentorship program designed to provide our students with the guidance, support, and wisdom they need to navigate the complexities of life. We are seeking committed volunteers to come into the school once a month to connect with our students. Your role is simple yet profound: to listen, to share, and to be a consistent, positive presence in their lives. Each month, we'll focus on a different theme crucial to our students' development:
• September: "Coping with Grief" – CEC has already volunteered
• October: "Life Is A Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free"
• November: "Glimpse in Time"
• December: "Etiquette for Young Men and Women"
• January: "Social Media Usage and Effects"
• February: "Career Awareness"
• March: "Financial Literacy"
• April: "Education Importance"
• May: "Mentorship and Morality"
Your participation in this program will not only honor the memory of Tra’Derric but will also make a tangible difference in the lives of our students. You have the power to help shape their future and equip them with the tools they need to thrive. If you are interested in becoming a Hall's Hero, please contact Jasmine Jackson at [email protected] or 601-783-0422. We need your help to build this vital village for our kids. Thank you for considering this important call to action.
Sincerely,
Jasmine Jackson, Principal, & The SPJH Faculty and Staff
